The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (U.S. CDC) Thailand is seeking a Medical Research Scientist/Epidemiology.

The incumbent will serve as the senior surveillance and research lead for activities conducted by the Epidemiology Branch, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Division of Global Health Protection (DGHP) in Nonthaburi, Thailand. The incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to initiate, plan, organize, implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate infectious disease surveillance and research activities conducted by DGHP and collaborating institutions. The incumbent provides oversight to cooperative agreement-related activities including surveillance, research, and training activities. The incumbent, along with DGHP collaborators, particularly Thai Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) staff, takes a lead role to investigate and respond to disease outbreaks in line with the DGHP mission and objectives. As a member of the senior management team, the incumbent plays a key role in DGHP's strategic & action planning.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: At least five years’ experience in medical or public health field including 2 years’ experience with surveillance systems and/or research projects in infectious diseases.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: The candidate must have at least one of the following education requirements:
- M.D. with a minimum of one-year of formal epidemiology training
- PhD in biological science, health science, or epidemiology with a minimum of one-year of formal epidemiology training

Salary: Starting THB 1,973,473 per annum; starting salary is negotiable
Work schedule: Full-time
